Numerous controversies have been posted in the last twenty four hours about the scandalous ‘Kiss of the century’. The Richard Gere – Shilpa Shetty kiss. I am fully aware of the Indian culture having grown up in a traditional family in India. I do agree that “When in Rome do as the Romans do.” But my question to the law inforcement of India is that “What you saw was just a glimpse of the numerous scandalous movies that Bollywood spins full time around the year. These movies are a mere reflection of who can strip better. Not even subtly anymore. It is all out there for the 1 billion population to see. So why this big controversy if an actor is just trying to be funny on stage. He is probably merely confused after seeing what’s out there in Bollywood nowadays. If the Indian law enforcement indeed need to protect its culture, they need to ban all the movies that show sexually gyrating, kissing, canoodling and love making which they have, without fail made it a requirement in these Bollywood movies over the last decade. The whole industry would find itself out of work at that rate.”
The most prominent Bollywood movies which may not have been released but also some of which have been are listed below.
The above video was telecast nationally where one of the dancers’s undergarments are purposely and clearly in focus as she dances.
These listed videos are just a few examples of whats out there on National Television and cable channels on a regular basis.
My point being that control by law is moot over any individual or groups especially in an ever emerging society and especially when the same law permits that society’s media to telecast images, movies and music that contradict their argument and beliefs.
