Jaya Ganga, produced and directed by Paris based South Asian writer Vijay Singh, received wide acclaim at the World Film Festival in Montreal, Canada.
Jaya Ganga features newcomers Asil Rais and Smriti Mishra (the latter of whom was voted one of the ten most beautiful faces of the Indian film industry by Time Magazine. Read about her at the Rediff site).
Jaya Ganga showcases some of Singh's self-confessed obsession with the river Ganga's beauty. The film details the picturesque landscape over the actual terrain that the river flows.
The film itself describes the story of Nishant, a young Indian writer who undertakes a journey down the fabled river and falls in love in the process.
